Jeffrey Scott Gibson

July 19, 1961 — June 16, 2026

It is with profound sadness and gentle remembrance that we announce the passing of Jeffrey Scott Gibson, a beloved husband, father, brother, and friend, who left us on June 16, 2026, at the age of 64. Jeff was born on July 19, 1961, in the warm community of Gaston County, where he began a life filled with love, laughter, and adventure. Jeff was the cherished son of Melvin and Hilda Gibson, who preceded him in death, as did his beloved daughter, Amanda Gibson. Despite these profound losses, Jeff's spirit remained resilient, and his heart open to the joys of life. A man of simple pleasures, Jeff attended Ashbrook High School, where he formed lifelong friendships and developed a love for the outdoors that would accompany him through his years. His passion for motorcycles was well-known and brought him countless hours of joy and camaraderie with fellow enthusiasts. Professionally, Jeff dedicated many years to United Rentals in Hickory, where his hard work and dedication were admired by colleagues and clients alike. His commitment to his work was only overshadowed by his devotion to his family and his faith. Jeff's spiritual journey was nurtured at Revival Tabernacle in Stanley, where he was a respected member and found solace and community. His faith was a cornerstone of his life, providing him with strength and guidance. Jeff's life was a tapestry woven with love and family ties. He is survived by his devoted wife of nearly 35 years, Darlene Gibson, who stood by his side through all of life's seasons. Together, they built a family of love with their children, Jason Walker and Chasity Woods, who carry forward his legacy of kindness and integrity. Jeff's siblings, Susie Tessner and her husband Jerry, Tim Gibson and his wife Karen, and Randy Gibson and his wife Sheila, will forever cherish the memories and bonds they shared with him. His presence will also be dearly missed by his numerous extended family members, who were touched by his warmth and generosity. A service to celebrate Jeff's remarkable life will be held on June 20, 2026, at 10:00 AM at the Way of the Cross. Family, friends, and all whose lives were touched by Jeff are warmly invited to attend, to share in the stories, the laughter, and the love that defined Jeff's life. In remembering Jeff, we honor a man who truly loved life, who embraced every day with a smile, and who left an indelible mark on all who knew him. Though he has departed from this world, his spirit will forever ride on the winds of our hearts, and his memory will be a guiding light for all who loved him. May he rest in peace, surrounded by the eternal beauty of the great outdoors he so cherished.
