On June 7, 2026, Jeffrey Michael Baker passed away suddenly in the hospital after a progressive illness, leaving behind a legacy of love, dedication, and hard work. Born on February 20, 1948, in Detroit, Michigan, Jeff was a beloved husband, a loyal friend, and a respected professional in his community. Jeff was the cherished son of Thomas and Virginia Baker, who predeceased him. He is survived by his beloved wife, Barbara, to whom he was devoted for 32 years, as well as an extended network of family and friends who will deeply miss his presence. Education was a cornerstone of Jeff's life. He graduated from Bentley High in Livonia, Michigan, in 1965, and furthered his education by obtaining an associate degree from Schoolcraft College in Livonia. His passion for learning led him to enter the electrical apprenticeship with IBEW Local 58 in 1971, where he achieved his journeyman status by 1974. Jeff's career as an Electrical Foreman saw him working on various important projects throughout the Metro Detroit area. He was admired for his meticulous attention to detail and his unwavering commitment to safety and excellence. Jeff retired on March 1, 2003, leaving behind a legacy of mentorship and integrity. Community and camaraderie were important to Jeff. He cherished his Tuesday mornings with the "Breakfast Club," a group of friends who gathered to share stories and laughter. Jeff was a man of many interests, constantly engaged in projects around the house or tinkering in the garage. His passion for cars was evident in his impressive collection of classic automobiles, including his prized 1930 Model A, 1985 Cadillac Eldorado, 1982 DeLorean, and 1987 Corvette, which he proudly showcased at car shows. Jeff's sudden departure leaves a void in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. His life will be celebrated at a future time and place to be announced. In memory of Jeff, let us remember his unwavering dedication to his family, his commitment to his work, and his passion for life that inspired all who had the privilege to know him.
