Jeffrey "Jeff" Robert Hinds

Jeffrey Hinds, born on May 26, 1951, in the small town of Kenmare, North Dakota, passed away peacefully on September 8, 2026, surrounded by loved ones at the Benefis Peace Hospice in Great Falls, Montana, after a courageous battle with cancer. His life was a testament to the power of resilience, humor, and love, qualities that he shared generously with all who knew him. Jeff was the beloved son of the late Robert and Ruby (Peterson) Hinds. He was predeceased by his parents, his sister Valerie Fieldsend, and his uncles Richard and Michael Hinds. Despite the losses he faced, Jeff's spirit remained unbroken, buoyed by the deep connections he held with his surviving family: his devoted wife of 50 years, Vicki; his children, Jennifer (Jonathon) Larsen of Billings, MT, Jason Hinds of Sidney, MT, and Adria (Daniel) Mikulecky of Great Falls, MT. His legacy continues through his siblings, Kathy (Allen) Larson of Lignite, ND, Jim (Cathie) Hinds of Lolo, MT, and Rick (Cindy) Hinds of The Villages, FL, as well as his cherished grandchildren and a great-grandchild who brought him immense joy. Jeff and Vicki's love story began with their marriage on August 15, 1976, a partnership that weathered many seasons and bore witness to the raising of their three children. His family was his pride and joy, and he was an amazing Papa to his eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Jeff's life was rich with the simple pleasures he found in his hobbies: his passion for cars, hunting, fishing, camping, and even a bit of curling. He was a stalwart supporter of Sodbuster Softball and the Hi-Line Curling Bonspiels, always ready with a cheer and a smile. A graduate of Flaxton High School in North Dakota, Jeff went on to earn an Associate's degree in Welding and Auto Body Tech from North Dakota State College of Science in Wahpeton, ND. His career took him to the oil fields, a path he followed diligently from 1981 until his retirement in 2012. For 27 years, Jeff was also a proud member of the Elks Lodge, where he formed lasting friendships and contributed to his community. Jeff will be forever remembered for his quick wit and mischievous sense of humor. His "Jeffisms" had a unique way of brightening everyone's day, leaving a legacy of laughter and warmth. His family and friends will always cherish the many moments of joy and love they shared with him. A service to celebrate Jeff's life will be held on November 7, 2026, at 3:00 PM at the Sidney Elks Lodge BPOE 1782, located at 123 3rd Street SW. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly suggests donations be made in Jeff's memory to the Croxford Funeral Home and Benefis Peace Hospice, whose staff provided exceptional care and comfort in his final days. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the dedicated staff at the Benefis Peace Hospice for their compassionate care and support. Jeff's spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew him, and his memory will be a guiding light of love and laughter.
