It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Jeffery Scott Eckert Jr., who left this world peacefully at his home in Washington, NJ, on August 11, 2026. Born on September 21, 1979, in Danville, NJ, Jeffery was a man who embraced life with a genuine enthusiasm that was infectious to all who knew him.
Jeffery was the beloved son of Jeffery S. Eckert Sr. and the late Nancy Ruddell. His early years were filled with the love and guidance of his family, which he carried forward throughout his life. He is survived by his devoted wife, Kim Ann Plunk Eckert, with whom he shared 16 wonderful years of marriage. Their journey together began on June 11, 2010, when they exchanged vows in Bridgewater, NJ.
Jeffery had a deep appreciation for the simple joys of life. An avid fisherman, he found peace and solace by the water, casting his line with patience and hope. He also had a passion for video games and spent many joyful hours immersed in virtual worlds. His enthusiasm for flying drones and assembling race cars and bikes showcased his love for both technology and adventure. Beyond his hobbies, Jeffery was a thoughtful man who cherished reading and expressed his creativity through writing in his journals.
Family was paramount to Jeffery. He leaves behind his cherished brothers, William Ruddell and Dunstin Ruddell, and his loving sisters, Caroline and Danielle Eckert. His stepmother, Elaine Eckert. Alone with two nephews and one neice, along with numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins, will remember him fondly. Jeffery was predeceased by his mother, Nancy Ruddell, whose memory he held close to his heart.
