Raised in Fresno, Jeffery graduated from Fresno High School in 1972, beginning a journey that would see him touch countless lives. Known for his gentle spirit and unwavering generosity, Jeff's life was a testament to the power of love and redemption. He was predeceased by his beloved father, James Marrs, and leaves behind his cherished mother, Diana Marrs, and his devoted girlfriend, Laura Olcegera, who stood by him through life's myriad of moments, both challenging and beautiful.
For over a decade, Jeff worked as a delivery driver at Domino's Pizza in Sumner, WA, where his infectious smile and impeccable work ethic endeared him to colleagues and customers alike. Beyond his professional life, Jeffery was an active and proud member of Alcoholics Anonymous, marking 27 years of sobriety, a journey he began on April 13, 1992. His commitment to AA was not just a personal triumph but a beacon of hope for many. Jeff found immense joy in sponsoring fellow members, providing guidance and friendship, especially to his dear sponsee, Michael Stixrud. His dedication to the fellowship extended to attending AA meetings and conferences, where he shared his story with sincerity and warmth, leaving an indelible mark on those who heard him.
Jeffery's life was richly woven with simple pleasures and profound connections. He treasured moments spent with his granddaughter, whose laughter and innocence brought him endless joy. His love for family extended to all he met, treating each person with respect, kindness, and love. Jeffery's compassionate nature was matched by his incredible ability to listen and offer support, making him a cherished friend and confidante to many.
In remembering Jeffery David Marrs, we celebrate a life that was fully lived with purpose and passion. Though he is no longer with us, his spirit continues to inspire and uplift. Those who knew him will forever cherish the lessons of humility, strength, and love that he imparted so graciously.
A memorial service to honor Jeffery's life will be held at a later date, where friends and family will gather to share memories and celebrate the legacy of a truly remarkable man. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to Alcoholics Anonymous, reflecting Jeff's unwavering commitment to helping others find their path to recovery.
