In Loving Memory

Jeff Stokes
March 5, 1952 — August 29, 2026
With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Jeff Stokes, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend, who passed away on August 29, 2026. Born on March 5, 1952, in Memphis, Tennessee, Jeff was the cherished son of Sheila and Ken Stokes. He leaves behind a legacy rich in love, laughter, and warmth.
Jeff's life was a testament to his unwavering dedication to family and community. In 1976, he married his beloved Pearl, and together they built a life filled with love and joy. Their enduring partnership was blessed with five wonderful daughters—Becky, Tony, Trenell, Lawanda, and Bridgette—and a son, Martin. Jeff's family continued to grow, bringing him immense pride and happiness through his grandchildren, who were a central joy in his life.
Known for his quick wit and warm smile, Jeff had the remarkable ability to make everyone feel welcome and valued. His presence could effortlessly lighten any room, and his humor was a source of comfort and joy to those around him. These qualities mirrored his approach to life, one where kindness and connection were paramount.
Jeff spent his Sundays indulging in one of his favorite pastimes, fishing with his son and grandchildren. These moments, spent by the water, were filled with laughter, storytelling, and the simple joy of being together. In his later years, Jeff discovered a new delight in what he affectionately called “dashing.” His adventures in door-dashing brought him happiness and a sense of community engagement.
A celebration of Jeff's life will be held on September 11, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the Mississippi Boulevard Christian Church, located at 70 N Bellevue Blvd, Memphis. Family and friends will gather to honor the life of a man who touched so many hearts with his kindness and humor.
As we remember Jeff, we hold dear the memories of his laughter, his wisdom, and the love he shared so freely. His spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to be made in Jeff's memory to a charity of your choice. May his soul rest in peace, and may his memory be a blessing to all who knew him.
