Born August 17, 1950, in Oakman, Alabama to Tommy and Pauline Bass, she is the second of five children. Jeannine passed away October 25, 2026, at her home in Auburn. She was preceded in death by her father, Tommy Bass, her sister, Donna Kay Ingram, and her brother-in-law, Elbert Hodges. Left to cherish her memory is her devoted husband of 56 years, Ray Rice, with whom she shared a beautiful life filled with love and adventure. Together, they raised two daughters, Rachel Schaefer (Stephen), and Candace Sealy (Dwain). She is also survived by her grandchildren, Ashtan Henry (James), Kaylynne Sealy, Breanna Schaefer, Kyle Sealy, Annabeth Schaefer; sisters, Carolyn Hodges, Denise Lawrence, brother, Greg Bass (Melissa), and numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. Jeannine was a woman of many talents and passions. Her creativity shone through in her cooking, floral arrangements, and decorating skills, making every holiday and birthday celebration unforgettable. Her quick wit and genuine love for others endeared her to all who knew her. She enjoyed interacting with Aubie and never missed an opportunity to cheer on Auburn at different sporting events. Jeannine found joy in travel, whether it was cruising the open seas, exploring new states, or having fun in Panama City Beach with her beloved sisters, Carolyn and Donna.
