Jeannie Marie Brodhead
March 11, 1964 — April 30, 2026
It is with profound sorrow and heartfelt gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of Jeannie Marie Brodhead, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend. Jeannie was gently called home to be with Our Lord and Savior on April 30, 2026, at St. Francis Cabrini Hospital in Alexandria, LA, after a valiant battle with chronic illnesses. Her transition was peaceful, surrounded by the love of family and friends.
Born on March 11, 1964, in Los Angeles, California, Jeannie was the cherished daughter of Alton Jones and Mona Martin, both of whom predeceased her. A devoted mother to her three daughters, Christina, Ashley, and Rebecca Brodhead, and son, Chris Russell. Jeannie dedicated her life to nurturing them with unwavering love and support. Her seven grandchildren—Caden, Ally, Katherine, Maleigha, Landon, Shane, and Brandon—were the lights of her life, and she took immense joy in being their grandmother.
Jeannie's life was a testament to her deep faith and devotion to Jesus Christ. She was an active member of Mighty Church and Word of Grace Church in Pineville, LA, where she engaged wholeheartedly with numerous church groups, sharing fellowship and spreading the gospel. Her love for Jesus was evident in every aspect of her life, as she seized every opportunity to share His message with anyone who would listen.
A natural artist, Jeannie found solace and joy in painting and had a profound appreciation for nature's beauty. She delighted in the songs of birds and the serenity of wildlife, flowers, and animals, always expressing gratitude for God's magnificent creation. Her love for nature was only matched by her love for people; she never met a stranger and had a remarkable gift for building others up with words of affirmation and encouragement.
Jeannie's spirit was one of joy and laughter. Known for her quick wit and humor, she could bring a smile to anyone's face, often greeting others with a bright smile and a warm hug. Her wisdom went beyond her years, and she possessed a peace that surpassed understanding, leaving a lasting spiritual impression on everyone she met. She lived with purpose, embodying the love and forgiveness of the Lord in every interaction.
In addition to her daughters and grandchildren, Jeannie is survived by her best friend, Matt Keopke, who stood by her side through life's joys and challenges. Her family extends their heartfelt thanks to the compassionate staff at St. Francis Cabrini, Dr. Noel Lucas, and Hometown Healthcare for their unwavering support and kindness during Jeannie's final days.
A celebration of Jeannie's life will be held on May 23, 2026, at 2:00 PM at Mighty Church, Monroe Highway, Pineville, LA 71360. Donations can be made to Jeannie's memorial fund to support the causes she held dear.
