Jeanne W Krautwurst
February 18, 1921 — October 5, 2026
Jeanne W. Krautwurst, a remarkable woman of immense kindness and dedication, passed away peacefully at the age of 105. Born on February 18, 1921, in Akron, Ohio, Jeanne was the beloved daughter of Elbert and Gladys White. Her life was a testament to compassion, resilience, and unwavering commitment to her family and community.
In 1950, Jeanne married the love of her life, Roy Krautwurst. Together, they built a family filled with love and warmth. Jeanne was predeceased by her husband, Roy, and her cherished son, Roger, who was born with severe developmental disabilities. Despite the challenges she faced, Jeanne's strength and grace never wavered.
Jeanne is survived by her devoted son, Alan, and his wife, Carolanne. Her legacy continues through her grandson, Matthew, and his wife, Jessica, as well as her two great-grandchildren, Payton and Connor. Her family was the center of her world, and she was as kind and considerate a mother as one could ever be.
A highly talented individual, Jeanne attended the Eastman School of Music and graduated with a master's degree in voice. Her passion for music found expression in her role as choir director and soloist at the Lutheran Church from 1958 to 1987. Her voice was not only a gift to the congregation but also a source of solace and inspiration.
In 1969, Jeanne's focus shifted towards volunteer work, driven by her deep empathy and understanding of those with developmental disabilities. She dedicated her time to organizations such as Mary Cariola Children's Center, the Al Siegel Center, and Monroe Developmental Services. Her leadership was instrumental when she served as vice president and later as president of the Monroe Coordinating Group, now known as Starbridge. Jeanne's influence extended to various agencies, including her role as a charter member of the Prader-Willi support group in Rochester.
Beyond her professional and volunteer achievements, Jeanne found joy in painting, a hobby that allowed her to express her creativity and inner peace. Her artwork reflected the beautiful spirit she carried throughout her life.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Maplewood Nursing Home in Webster, New York, for their compassionate care and support during Jeanne's final years.
In honor of Jeanne's lifelong dedication to supporting individuals with developmental disabilities, the family kindly suggests that memorial donations be made to the Prader-Willi Alliance of New York, Inc.
