In Loving Memory

Jeanne Marie Gianella
March 25, 1945 — February 19, 2026
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Jeanne Marie Gianella, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, who left us peacefully on February 19, 2026, at the age of 80. Jeanne passed away due to natural causes related to Peripheral Artery Disease, surrounded by the love and care of her family.
Born on March 25, 1945, in Arcadia, California, Jeanne was the cherished daughter of Bill and Barbara Collins, who preceded her in death. She was also predeceased by her beloved son, Billy Gianella. Despite these immense losses, Jeanne's indomitable spirit and love for her family shone brightly throughout her life.
Jeanne is survived by her devoted son, Brett Gianella, and her adored grandsons, Blake and Bradley Gianella, who were the light of her life. Her legacy of love and resilience lives on in them, as it does in all who were fortunate enough to know her.
A proud graduate of Arcadia High School, Jeanne carved out a distinguished career in business, eventually becoming the General Manager of a successful manufacturing company in Portland, Oregon. Her professional accomplishments were matched only by her zest for life and her varied interests.
An avid fisherwoman, Jeanne was renowned for crafting her own lures and mastering the art of fly fishing. Her passion for the water was as strong as her love for animals, particularly her treasured German Shepherds: Afara, Chance, and Betsy, who were her steadfast companions.
Jeanne’s adventurous spirit led her on three unforgettable trips to Africa, where she fell in love with the land and its people, maintaining lasting friendships across continents. A collector at heart, she found joy in the works of Remington and Bev Doolittle, each piece a testament to her appreciation for beauty and history.
Known for her playful side, Jeanne had an affinity for video poker and cherished many lively trips to Las Vegas. Her laughter and joy in these moments will be dearly missed by all who joined her.
Jeanne's generosity knew no bounds. She was a “giver” until the very end, supporting numerous organizations close to her heart, including 2 Blind Brothers, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, and the Alzheimer’s Society Research Program. In Jeanne’s memory, donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, continuing her legacy of compassion and care.
In accordance with Jeanne's wishes, a private ceremony will be held to honor her life and legacy. As we say goodbye, we remember Jeanne as a beacon of strength, kindness, and grace. Her memory will forever be etched in our hearts, a guiding light that will continue to inspire us all.
