Jeanne Lynn Smith Ingram
February 21, 1958 — June 1, 2026
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved Jeanne Lynn Smith Ingram, who peacefully departed this world on June 1, 2026, after a courageous battle with Parkinson's disease. Jeanne was born on February 21, 1958, in the close-knit community of Ashland, Kentucky, where she spent her formative years and built the foundation of a life filled with love, laughter, and an enduring spirit.
Jeanne was the cherished daughter of the late Charles and Margaret Josephine Smith, who instilled in her the values of kindness and resilience. She was predeceased by her loving parents, her sister Carole Slone, her brothers Phillip and Charlie Smith, and her former spouse, Mark Ingram. Despite these losses, Jeanne's heart remained open, and she continued to touch the lives of many with her warmth and compassion.
Jeanne's legacy lives on in her devoted children: Charles Ingram and his wife Melinda, Melissa Hensley and her husband William, Tabatha Justice, and Phillip Smith. She was a proud grandmother, whose love for her grandchildren was as vibrant as her favorite color, purple. Jeanne's family was her greatest treasure, and she cherished every moment spent with them. Her close friends, especially Marcia Bertram, shared a special bond with Jeanne, marked by countless memories and shared laughter.
A proud graduate of high school in Ashland, Jeanne's life was a testament to the strength of community ties and the importance of education. Her interests were as colorful as the butterflies she adored. Jeanne loved her sweet tea and found joy in the companionship of her pets, particularly her beloved cats. She embraced the opportunity to travel, exploring new places with an open heart and a curious mind.
Jeanne's gentle spirit and her appreciation for simple joys will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Her love for the color purple was reflected in her vibrant personality and her enduring optimism, even in the face of adversity.
As we celebrate Jeanne's life, we remember her not only for her strength and courage but for her ability to inspire those around her with her unwavering love and kindness. Her memory will forever remain in the hearts of her family and friends, as we find solace in knowing that she is now at peace, reunited with those she loved dearly.
In honor of Jeanne's life, the family requests that any donations be made to Parkinson's research or a local animal shelter, causes that were close to her heart. We invite all who knew and loved Jeanne to join us in a celebration of her life, to be held at a later date, where we will share memories, laughter, and the enduring legacy of a truly remarkable woman.
Rest in peace, dear Jeanne. You will be forever missed and eternally loved.
