Jean “Tipay” Julien, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 16, 2026, at the age of 72. Born on May 5, 1954, in the vibrant town of Leogané, Haiti, Jean's life was a testament to resilience, love, and the enduring strength of family.
Jean was a woman of profound warmth and kindness, whose heart and home were always open to those in need. Her journey through life was marked by an unwavering dedication to her family, her heritage, and her community. She possessed a remarkable ability to touch the lives of everyone she met, leaving behind a legacy of compassion and generosity.
Throughout her life, Jean was a proud and loving mother to her cherished children: Evelyn Julien, Quinetta James, Jacquelyn Julien, Adarrius James, and Jimmy Julien. Her greatest joy was being surrounded by her family, especially her 13 adored grandchildren who brought endless happiness and laughter to her days. In addition to her children and grandchildren, Jean is survived by numerous nieces and nephews, each of whom held a special place in her heart.
Jean's life was a mosaic of rich experiences and treasured moments, from her early days in Haiti to her later years surrounded by loved ones. She was known for her culinary prowess, bringing the flavors of her homeland to every gathering, and for her stories, which carried the wisdom and warmth of generations past.
In keeping with her wishes, a private funeral ceremony will be held to honor Jean’s life and legacy. This intimate gathering will provide an opportunity for her family to celebrate her memory and the immeasurable love she bestowed upon them.
