Jean Simpson, a beloved wife, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on July 3, 2026, at the age of 69, after a courageous battle with dementia and Alzheimer's disease. Born on June 16, 1957, in Toledo, Ohio, Jean was the cherished daughter of the late Frank and Betty Hawk. Jean's life was a testament to kindness, generosity, and an unyielding spirit. She was predeceased by her dear parents, her sister Mary, and her grand-nephew Karter, whom she held close to her heart. She is survived by her devoted husband, Robert Simpson, and family that includes her three sisters, Marge Eberly, Sylvia Soto, and Virginia Cloud, along with three stepchildren and countless nieces, nephews, and grandchildren. Each of them carries forward the legacy of love and warmth that Jean so generously shared. Throughout her life, Jean worked in various customer service roles across Defiance and the surrounding areas. Her vibrant personality and genuine care for others made her an irreplaceable presence in every workplace. Jean especially cherished her time bartending around Paulding, Ohio, where her quick wit and infectious spirit left an indelible mark on everyone she met. She never met a stranger, seeing each new face as a friend and every encounter as an opportunity to brighten someone's day. Jean's passion for life was evident in her hobbies and interests. She loved to travel, eager to explore local shops and diners in search of culinary delights. Her adventurous spirit led her to racetracks and campgrounds, where she embraced the thrill of the races and the tranquility of nature. Jean’s adventurous nature and her readiness for new experiences were a source of inspiration to all who knew her. Her warm smile and generous personality were her trademarks, and her ability to help those in need and make them feel valued was unmatched. Jean's legacy is one of love, laughter, and a life lived to the fullest, despite the challenges she faced.
