It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Jean Dale Roy at the age of 81, on June 2, 2026, at the Quaboag Nursing Facility. Born on June 14, 1944, in Worcester, Massachusetts, Jean was the beloved daughter of the late Dale E. and Vitella A. (Prokopovich) Means. She was a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend who touched the lives of many with her warmth and unwavering love. Jean was the devoted wife to Dennis Roy, with whom she shared a life filled with laughter, love, and cherished memories. Together, they raised a beautiful family, fostering an environment where love and family were always at the forefront. Jean's love for her family was unparalleled, and she dedicated her life to nurturing those around her. As a mother, Jean's nurturing spirit and gentle guidance were the cornerstones of her family. She was predeceased by her beloved sons, Michael and Peter, who she now joins in eternal peace. Her legacy continues through her surviving son, John J. Roy, and David Roy, alongside his wife Corinne. Jean’s love and kindness live on in her grandchildren, Brandon and his wife Jill, Jillian and her husband Joe, and Michael and his partner Katie. Her great-grandchildren, Hudson, Lucas, and Isabella, were the light of her later years, bringing her immense joy and pride. Jean is also survived by her beloved siblings, each of whom held a special place in her heart: Dolly James and her husband Val, Dale Means Jr. and his spouse Jane, Marge Mellentine and her husband Chuck, Joy Glynn and her husband John, Bobby Means and his wife Sheryl, and Jimmy and his wife Anita. Jean was a treasured aunt and godmother to many, including her godchildren, John Glynn and Megan Flynn. Throughout her career, Jean was a dedicated employee at Mastermans, where she worked diligently for many years before enjoying a well-deserved retirement. Her colleagues remember her as a reliable, kind-hearted, and hardworking individual who made every workplace brighter with her presence. Jean's genuine warmth extended beyond her immediate family to everyone she encountered. Her legacy of love, compassion, and kindness will be cherished by all who knew her. In her free time, Jean loved nothing more than the company of her family, cherishing every moment spent surrounded by those she loved most. A private funeral ceremony will be held to honor Jean's remarkable life. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate staff at Quaboag Rehabilitation & Skilled Care Center for their exceptional care and support during Jean’s final days. Jean Dale Roy leaves behind a legacy of love and warmth that will continue to inspire future generations. She will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her. Her spirit will forever remain in our hearts, a guiding light for her family and friends.
