Jean Lucas Price, a cherished soul who graced this world on May 3, 1930, in the quiet town of Madison, West Virginia, passed away peacefully on October 20, 2026, surrounded by her beloved family. Her departure leaves a profound void in the hearts of all who had the privilege to know her. Born to Ervin and Bertha Ballard Lucas, Jean was instilled with a deep sense of love and compassion from an early age. Her childhood, spent in the embrace of West Virginia's rolling hills, was filled with the warmth and closeness of her family. Though preceded in death by her sisters, Judy Adkins and Betty Watson of Huntington, WV, Jean carried their memories close to her heart, cherishing the times they shared. Jean's life was a tapestry woven with love, faith, and creativity. As a devoted member of the Uneeda Church of Christ, her faith was the cornerstone of her life. She found immense joy in the fellowship and support of her church family, who will remember her gentle spirit and unwavering devotion. Her hands were never idle, always busy with a quilt or knitting needles, creating beautiful works of art that were given as tokens of love to family and friends. Jean's creativity was a reflection of her generous heart, as she found happiness in giving and sharing with those around her. Jean's legacy lives on through her loving family. She is survived by her devoted son, Roger Price, and his wife, Joyce, of Uneeda, WV; her cherished grandchildren, Chris Price and his wife, Glenna, of Leesville, SC, and Amie Lee and her husband, James, of Surprise, AZ. She also leaves behind her dear sisters, Pat Vansteinberg and Barbara Wyatt, along with her husband, Steve, both of Chesapeake, OH. Each of them carries forward the values and love she imparted. In accordance with her wishes, a private funeral ceremony will be held to honor Jean's life. Her family kindly requests that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to a charity of your choice, a gesture that would truly reflect Jean’s spirit of giving and selflessness. Jean will be remembered for her kind heart, her boundless creativity, and her unwavering faith. Her presence was a blessing, and her memory will be treasured by all who knew her. As we say goodbye, we hold tight to the love and lessons she imparted, carrying her legacy forward with grace and gratitude.
