J.B. Coleman

J.B. "Jerry" Coleman, a beloved father, brother, and friend, peacefully departed this life on July 18, 2026, at the age of 76, at Delta Regional Medical Center. Born on June 12, 1950, in Greenville, Mississippi, J.B. was the cherished son of the late Ernest and Helen Coleman. J.B. was a proud graduate of T.L. Weston High School, class of 1970, where he formed lifelong friendships and honed his remarkable sense of humor that would endear him to many throughout his life. After high school, J.B. dedicated himself to his career at Greenville Steel and Fine Vines, where he was not only known for his hard work but also for his ability to make everyone feel welcome and valued. J.B. was a man of quick wit and a warm smile. His humor was ever-present, always ready with a joke to lighten any mood. His kindness and humble heart were felt by all who had the pleasure of knowing him, leaving a unforgettable mark on countless lives. J.B.’s laughter and love will be deeply missed yet fondly remembered by his family and friends. He is survived by his one son, Corey and six daughters: Paulette of Miluakee, Qulandria of Greenville, MS, and LaSonya Coleman (Pastor Charles) Matthews of Horn Lake, MS; Chandra Coleman of Nashville, TN, his loving Goddaughter, Brenda of Greenville, MS; and his two brothers, Ernest "Barry" Coleman of Greenville and Terry Coleman. J.B. was also the proud grandfather to 15 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren, each of whom brought immense joy to his life. J.B. was preceded in death by his parents, Ernest and Helen Coleman, his sister Dorothy Coleman, and his Godsister Marie. Though their loss is deeply felt, the family takes comfort in knowing J.B. is reunited with them in peace. A celebration of J.B.'s life will be held on August 1, 2026, at 2:30 PM at Watson Edwards and Evans Funeral Home, located at 703 Theobald Street. Family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance of a life well-lived, sharing memories and honoring the legacy J.B. leaves behind. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in J.B.'s memory to a charity of your choice, continuing his legacy of humility and kindness. J.B. Coleman’s life was a testament to the power of laughter, love, and kindness. His memory will forever be cherished in the hearts of those who knew him.
