It is with heavy hearts and deep sorrow that we announce the passing of JaymeLee Haunani Bowman, who left this world on May 17, 2026, at the age of 61. She departed peacefully, surrounded by the love of her family and friends, after a fierce battle with cancer. JaymeLee was born on December 4, 1964, in Akron, Ohio, to Ralph William Bowman and Lydia Howell.
JaymeLee was a beacon of strength and resilience, whose spirit never wavered even in the face of adversity. A proud graduate of Maumee High School and Penta County Vocational School, she was a dedicated lifelong learner, always eager to embrace new challenges and opportunities. Her thirst for knowledge and adventure led her to serve honorably in the United States Air Force for four years, where she developed an unwavering commitment to duty and integrity.
After her military service, JaymeLee embarked on a successful career as a Resort Property Operations Manager for Brittain Resorts, where she poured her heart and soul into her work. Her colleagues knew her as a straight shooter, a natural salesperson who could charm her way through almost anything. JaymeLee had an unparalleled work ethic and a refusal to cut corners, traits that earned her respect and admiration from everyone she encountered.
Outside of her professional life, JaymeLee was a lover of the great outdoors. She found solace and joy in fishing, hiking, and camping, always marveling at the beauty of God's creation. Her love for fishing was legendary, and she could often be found casting a line in tranquil waters, finding peace in nature's embrace. At home, she was a talented and passionate cook, delighting family and friends with her culinary creations and warm hospitality.
Music was another of JaymeLee's passions, and she was a gifted guitarist who brought joy to others through her music. Her carefree spirit was infectious, and she had a special affinity for dressing up for Halloween, bringing laughter and light-hearted fun to those around her.
JaymeLee's greatest joy was her family. She is survived by her beloved partner, Connie Douglass; her cherished mother, Lydia Howell; her devoted brothers, Ralph Stephen (Pamela) and Randolph (Lori). She was predeceased by her sister StaceyAnn Leialoha Bowman, her father Ralph W. Bowman, and her step-father Noe Howell. The bond she shared with her family was unbreakable, and her love for them was limitless.
JaymeLee's kind and giving heart touched the lives of many. Her legacy is one of love, compassion, and unwavering strength. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but her memory will live on in the hearts of those she loved.
In honor of JaymeLee's life and her commitment to education, donations may be made to the Penta County Vocational School, where a scholarship fund is being established in her name to support future generations of learners.
