In Loving Memory of Jaydah Lanae Mitchell Jaydah Lanae Mitchell, a bright and spirited young soul, passed away on October 21st 2026, at Duke Regional, leaving a profound impact on all who were fortunate to know her. Born on January 31, 2011, in Henderson, North Carolina, Jaydah was a beacon of love and energy, whose presence will be deeply missed by her family, friends, and community. Jaydah was the beloved daughter of Onystii and Andrea, who cherished her every moment. She was predeceased by her grandfather, Charles Z. Marrow, and his wife, Martha, who now welcome her with open arms. A student at Millbrook High School, Jaydah excelled not only in academics but also shone brightly on the basketball court. Her passion for sports extended to softball, where her enthusiasm was infectious. Jaydah’s love for music found a home at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, where she joined the band and later served as an usher, embodying the spirit of service and devotion. Jaydah's personal qualities were as vibrant as her interests. She was a unique individual, characterized by her love for people and the joy she brought to those around her. Her heart was most full when she was with her hero, Brandon, playing basketball or embarking on adventures with her beloved Gigi she leave to cherish her memories by her 2 sisters Jakayla And Jalani and her best friend Carter and her cousins mourns her death Karmen Brandon Brenton Brianna Brycen Joshua And Kaniyah and Landon A service to honor Jaydah’s life will be held on November 7, 2026, at 1:00 PM at South Henderson PHC, located at 905 Americal Road. Family, friends, and all whose lives were touched by Jaydah are invited to celebrate her legacy of love and joy. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to Maria Parham Hospital, in remembrance of Jaydah’s generous spirit and her connection to the community. The Mitchell family wishes to express their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Davis Royster and to all who have shown their support and love during this difficult time.
