May 27, 1985 — June 1, 2026
It is with heavy hearts and profound love that we announce the passing of Jay Alden Moline, who left this world on June 1, 2026, after a courageous battle with Congenital Heart Disease. Jay, born on May 27, 1985, in Burnsville, Minnesota, was a beloved son, brother, fiancé, and friend whose life was a testament to perseverance, love, and joy.
Jay was the cherished son of Kevin and Cindy Moline and the loving brother to Sister Kelly Moline, OP. His family was the cornerstone of his life, and he was deeply devoted to them. He leaves behind a legacy of love that will forever be etched in the hearts of his parents, sister, and his beloved fiancé, Hope Burbes. Jay and Hope shared a beautiful journey that began in childhood at Heart to Heart at St. Louis Children's Hospital and blossomed over the years, culminating in their engagement on April 1, 2025, in Phoenix, Arizona.
Jay is also survived by an extended family that includes his aunts and uncles, Jeff (Paula) Fox, Debbie (Reid) Seipp, Mary Schaffer, Jimmy Fox, Tammy (John) Bacon, and Rich Hughes (Tony), as well as his cousins Ryan, Ashley, Alex, Max, Josh, Dominick, Madison, Samantha, and Megan, all of whom he cherished dearly. He was predeceased by his grandparents, Reinhold and Patricia Fox, his Aunt and Godmother, Pam Fox, and his Uncle John P. Fox, who he now joins in eternal peace.
A graduate of Rockwood Summit High School in 2003, Jay pursued his passion for storytelling and sports at Missouri State University, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Broadcast Journalism in 2007. His career was marked by his dynamic presence and unwavering dedication. Jay's journey began as an intern with the Iowa Cubs, leading him to a fulfilling career with AggieVision at New Mexico State University and later as the Director of Social Media and a video producer for KState Sports in Manhattan, Kansas. Most recently, he touched countless lives through his work as Community Relations Director at Mosaic and as Art Director at CivicPlus in Phoenix, Arizona.
Jay was not only dedicated to his career but also to giving back to the community. He served as an ambassador and volunteer for organizations such as The Children's Miracle Network, The Make-A-Wish Foundation, St. Louis Children's Hospital, The American Heart Association, and the Peoria Diamond Club. His kindness and commitment to helping others will be remembered by all who knew him.
Jay's love for sports was unparalleled. Whether playing baseball, flag football, soccer, or enjoying family wiffle ball games in the driveway, his enthusiasm was infectious. His "smooth as butter" left-handed swing was legendary, fueling his lifelong passion for golf. Beyond sports, Jay enjoyed collecting baseball cards, building with Legos, playing video games, and engaging in sports trivia, always finding joy in the simple pleasures of life.
A service to honor and celebrate Jay's life will be held on June 17, 2026, at 10:30 AM at St. Thomas More Catholic Church, located at 6180 West Utopia Road, Glendale, AZ 85308. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the doctors and nurses at Mayo Clinic Phoenix and St. Joseph's Hospital for their exceptional care and to Hope, whose kindness, attentiveness, and love were a source of strength and comfort for Jay.
Jay Alden Moline's life, though too short, was filled with love, laughter, and an indomitable spirit. He touched the lives of everyone he met, leaving an indelible mark on their hearts. As we bid farewell, we hold onto the cherished memories and the enduring legacy of a remarkable individual who inspired us to live fully, love deeply, and cherish every moment.
