In Loving Memory

Jason Michael Maguire
November 2, 1973 — July 9, 2026
It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the unexpected passing of Jason Michael Maguire, a beloved son, father, brother, and friend, who left this world too soon on July 9, 2026, at the age of 52. Born on November 2, 1973, in Akron, Summit County, Ohio, Jason was the cherished son of Michael and Janice Maguire.
Jason was a proud graduate of Norton High School's Class of 1992 and went on to attend the Akron University Police Academy, then served as a police officer in Lodi, Ohio, dedicating a portion of his life to community service. He later applied his talents and skills as an industrial mechanic at Malco Products.
To know Jason was to know his love for family, especially his daughter, Becca Maguire, who was the center of his universe. As a father, he excelled in his most cherished role, always placing Becca above all else. His warmth and dedication also extended to his sister, Julie Fern (Chris), and brother, Michael T. Maguire, Jr., along with numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, and nephews who held him dear.
Jason was a man of many passions and pursuits. He was an avid golfer (though not very good) and loved nothing more than spending time at swap meets with his father and brother, sharing laughs and stories. His love for auto mechanics was only rivaled by his affection for his '69 Camaro, which he cherished deeply. Those who knew him will fondly remember his good-natured spirit and his playful, adventurous personality.
Known for his great sense of humor and his unique quirks, Jason never left a loved one without a hug and a kiss. He was often seen with his t-shirt inside out, and never carried cash, proclaiming it the "nastiest thing you can touch!" His forgetful nature was endearing, and he was never without a Diet Mountain Dew. More than anything, Jason was a kind and beautiful soul, deeply sentimental, and always available to help a friend in need.
Jason's dedication to his parents was unwavering, and he was a constant, comforting presence in their lives. He was a good friend to many and will be remembered for his generosity, warmth, and the love he shared with those around him.
A service to honor Jason's life will be held on Wednesday, July 15 at 1:00 PM at the Schermesser-Eberhardt Funeral Home, located at 600 E. Turkeyfoot Rd, Akron, OH 44319. A visitation will be on Tuesday, July 14 from 5-8 PM. Family and friends are invited to gather and celebrate the life of a man who brought so much joy and laughter into the world.
Jason Michael Maguire will be dearly missed but forever remembered in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. May his journey be peaceful, and his memory eternal.
