With the deepest sorrow and heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved son, brother, and friend, Jason Michael Madyun, who left us too soon after a sudden accident on April 20, 2026. Born on January 3, 2010, in the vibrant community of Harlem, New York, Jason was the cherished son of Haneef Madyun Sr. and Eileen Garcia. From the very beginning, Jason brightened every room he entered with his infectious smile and kind spirit. His warmth and genuine kindness were felt by all who knew him, and his laughter was a melody that brought joy to those around him. He was not only a beacon of light to his family but also a beloved friend to many. Jason was a sophomore at New Dorp High School in Staten Island, NY, where he was a dedicated student and a loyal friend. He had a passion for learning and a curiosity about the world that inspired those around him. His teachers and classmates remember him as a bright and promising young man who was full of potential and eager to make a positive impact on the world. A lover of sports and a natural leader, Jason was often found on the basketball court, where he played with determination and heart. His teammates looked up to him for his sportsmanship and unyielding support. Beyond sports, Jason had a creative side, often sketching and creating art that reflected his unique perspective and deep understanding of the world. Jason is predeceased by his siblings, Noah, Haneef, Kayla, Aaliyah, and Joshua. In our hearts, we find solace knowing that Jason is reunited with them, embraced by their love and warmth. Jason's legacy will live on in the memories of those who knew him and in the love that he shared with his family and friends. He is survived by his devoted parents, Haneef Madyun Sr. and Eileen Garcia, who find strength in the love and support of their community during this unimaginably difficult time. A funeral service to celebrate Jason's life will be held on April 23, 2026, at 11:00 AM at the RG Ortiz Funeral Home, located at 22 1st Ave, New York, NY 10009. Family and friends are invited to gather and honor Jason's life, sharing stories and memories of a young man whose time with us, although brief, will forever be cherished. Jason Michael Madyun will be remembered for his kind heart, his vibrant spirit, and the love he gave so freely. Though he is no longer with us, his light will continue to shine in the hearts of all who knew him. Rest in peace, dear Jason. You will be forever missed and always loved.
