It is with heavy hearts that we announce the unexpected passing of our beloved Jasmine Haskins on May 31, 2026. Born in Washington, D.C., on October 21, 1984, Jasmine was a beacon of light and a source of joy for all who knew her. She was the cherished daughter of Victoria and Kenneth Haskins, who brought her up with immense love and guidance.
Jasmine was a devoted sister to her siblings Derick Haskins, Dominique Green, and Eashelle Hager. Her life was further enriched by her nieces Kaylee, Kaycee, Kaylnn, and Zionna, as well as her nephews Kayden and Khalil. Jasmine held a special place in her heart for Autum, Aubrey, and Noah, who she adored dearly.
She is preceded in death by her beloved older sister, Shawnnise Yvette Baker, and her grandparents, Leroy and Maria Haskins. Jasmine's extended family includes a large circle of aunts—Christee, Evaugh, Elvira, Gloria, Juanita, Rachel, Lessa, Yvonne, and Sharron—and uncles, Bobby, Kalvin, Thomas, Clarence, Oliver, and Shawn. Her best friend Dreher, long-time friend Queen, and numerous cousins and friends will forever cherish her memory.
Jasmine attended public schools and graduated from Oxon Hill High School in 2003. She worked various jobs, but she found her true calling as a personal shopper at Harris Teeter. Jasmine's career was not just a job; it was a testament to her dedication.
A woman of deep faith, Jasmine was an original member of The Hope Of Praise Ministries in Colonial Beach, Virginia. She was inspired and nurtured by her aunt, who played a pivotal role in her spiritual journey. Jasmine served faithfully in the Youth Ministry, Usher board, and the Decorating Ministry. Her creativity and skill in jewelry making were admired by many, and her corky personality brought laughter and joy to those around her. Her unwavering loyalty and unvarnished truth will be profoundly missed by everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.
The family of Jasmine Haskins wishes to express their heartfelt appreciation and gratitude for the outpouring of love, support, and condolences during this difficult time. Each act of kindness has been a source of comfort and solace.
A celebration of Jasmine's life will be held on June 18, 2026, at 10:00 AM at Little Zion Baptist Church, located at 7748 Leedstown Rd, Colonial Beach, VA 22443. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made in Jasmine's memory to a charity of your choice.
