Jarrod Ryan Damewood

November 25, 1979 — June 15, 2026

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Jarrod Ryan Damewood, who departed from this world on June 15, 2026, after a brief illness, surrounded by the love and comfort of his family at Methodist Hospital in Sugar Land, Texas. Born on November 25, 1979, in Pasadena, Texas, Jarrod was a beacon of kindness, humor, and unwavering dedication to his family and friends. The beloved son of Sharlene and Larry Damewood, Jarrod's life was a testament to the values they instilled in him. Though he is now reunited with his mother, Sharlene; his Grandmother Walden; Papa Walden; Grandmother Shirley; and Grandfather Jack, his spirit remains ever-present with his father, Larry, and his stepmother, Elaine. He also leaves behind his cherished sisters, Sara (Sean) and Jacqueline (Cody), his Aunt Marlene, as well as numerous cousins, friends, and co-workers at Stafford ISD who were touched by his generosity and kindness. Jarrod’s journey began with his education at Alvin High School, where he graduated in 1999. Shortly thereafter, he embarked on a career at Stafford Independent School District, dedicating over two decades to ensuring the safety and efficiency of the district’s transportation system. His colleagues fondly remember him for his meticulous nature and his passion for "fixing" things—a passion that was evident from a young age. Jarrod's love for tinkering evolved into a lifelong hobby of working on cars, amassing a collection of over ten vehicles that he lovingly restored and maintained. His mechanical skills were matched only by his willingness to lend a helping hand, particularly to his elderly neighbors, whom he cared for with great devotion, assisting with daily tasks and appointments. Though content in solitude, Jarrod possessed a remarkable wit and humor that could light up any room. He was a kind soul, always ready with a joke or a story, and his personality left a lasting impression on everyone he met. The family extends their deepest gratitude to the dedicated staff at Methodist Hospital in Sugar Land for the compassionate care they provided to Jarrod during his final days. They also express their heartfelt thanks to Ian and everyone who has come to honor the life of their dear son and brother. A service to celebrate Jarrod's life will be held on June 27, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at Clayton Funeral Home, located at 5530 Broadway, Pearland, Texas. Following the service, the family warmly invites you to join them at Gringo's in Pearland for a celebration of Jarrod's life. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to children's charities, continuing Jarrod's legacy of care and compassion for those in need. Jarrod Ryan Damewood's life was a reflection of the love and laughter he shared with the world. He will be deeply missed but forever remembered in the hearts of those who knew him.
