Jaquelyn Combs

Jaquelyn Combs, affectionately known as Jackie, passed away peacefully on July 26, 2026, at Wake Med in Cary, NC, with her beloved family and friends by her side. Born on June 14, 1961, in Aurora, IL, Jackie was a beacon of kindness and joy, known for her compassionate spirit and unwavering love for those around her. Jackie was the cherished daughter of the late Jackie Love Combs and Lamont Combs, who preceded her in death. She is lovingly remembered by her lifelong friend, Edwina Daughtry, and her brothers, Jeff Combs (Pamela) and Todd Combs (Kyle). Her nephews, Josh Combs, Dusty Combs, and Joey Combs, along with their families, held a special place in her heart. A proud graduate of Greene Central High School's class of 1979, Jackie pursued her passion for healthcare at Pitt Community College, where she earned an Associate's Degree in Radiology in 1981. Her dedication to her profession was only surpassed by her dedication to the people she served and worked alongside. Jackie had an adventurous spirit, finding joy in exploring the world. However, her true sanctuary was by the ocean, where she delighted in the simple pleasure of feeling the sand beneath her feet. Her constant companion, Lexie, a sweet pet she adored, was a source of comfort and joy throughout her life. Known for her kind heart, Jackie was always ready to lend a helping hand and found happiness in the smallest of moments. Her joyful soul touched the lives of many and left an indelible mark on everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. In accordance with her wishes, a private funeral ceremony will be held to honor Jackie's life. For those who wish to pay tribute to her memory, donations can be made to the American Cancer Society - Breast Cancer Fund, an organization close to her heart. As we remember Jackie, we celebrate a life filled with love, laughter, and a legacy of kindness that will continue to inspire us all. She will be dearly missed and forever cherished by her family, friends, and all whose lives she touched.
