In Loving Memory

Janine Sessions
February 14, 1933 — May 18, 2026
Evelyn was born on September 3, 1947, in Wichita, and spent her life caring deeply for the people around her. She was known for her warm spirit, quick sense of humor, and ability to make anyone feel welcome in her home. Whether she was cooking Sunday dinners, tending to her garden, or cheering on her grandchildren at school events, Evelyn made every moment meaningful.
She worked for over 30 years as an elementary school teacher and touched the lives of countless students with her patience and kindness. Outside of work, she loved reading mystery novels, baking homemade pies, traveling with family, and listening to classic country music.
Evelyn is survived by her children, Michael Carter and Rebecca Lawson; her sister, Diane Miller; and her five beloved grandchildren, who were the center of her world. She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas Carter, whom she loved dearly for 42 years.
Family and friends will gather for a memorial service on Saturday, May 24, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. at Grace Community Church in Aurora. A celebration of life reception will follow.
Evelyn will be remembered for her compassion, strength, and unwavering love for her family and friends. Her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
