Janice V Palmer

March 17, 1939 — May 15, 2026

With heavy hearts and cherished memories, we announce the peaceful passing of Janice V Palmer, who slipped away from this life on May 15, 2026, at the age of 87. Born on March 17, 1939, in Clanton, Alabama, Janice's life was a testament to grace, resilience, and a boundless love for family and friends. Janice was the beloved daughter of Guthrie and Onnie Vines, who predeceased her, along with her dear husband, Elige G Palmer, and cherished siblings Karen Rayfield, Pauline Barrett, Louie Vines, Charles Vines, Louise Adams, and Aline Abrams. Though she has left this world, her spirit lives on through her devoted daughter, Teresa R. Lemond, and her treasured grandchildren, Jeremy Ryan Hicks, his wife Brooke, and Keli Hicks Jaquish. Her legacy extends further with her great-grandchildren, Laci Hicks and Kash Jaquish, and a multitude of nieces and nephews who each carry a piece of her love in their hearts. Janice's professional journey was as vibrant as her personality. Alongside her husband Elige, she ventured from Mississippi to Pensacola in 1981, where they founded Sunbelt Equipment Rentals, Inc. Her adept skills in real estate, bookkeeping, and accounting were instrumental in the business's success, and she continued her dedicated work until her retirement in 2002. Her career was marked by integrity and an unwavering commitment to excellence. A woman of many passions, Janice was an active member of various organizations and social groups. She was a past member of Aphrodite, Maids of Luna, and Fiesta Frolickers, where her leadership and vibrant spirit shone brightly. As a past Court attendant for the Krewe of Laffite, she exemplified elegance and charm. Janice's life was enriched by her hobbies and interests. She found joy in tending to her flower beds, the beauty of the beach, and the thrill of world travel. Known for her impeccable style and gracious demeanor, she was the epitome of a true Southern Belle. Her ability to tell a captivating joke was matched only by her thoughtfulness and compassion for those less fortunate. A service to honor Janice's remarkable life will be held on May 28, 2026, at 11:30 AM at Harper Morris on Airport Rd. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to the Waterfront Rescue Mission, reflecting Janice's enduring commitment to kindness and community. The family extends heartfelt gratitude to Stat Home Health Care and Emerald Coast Hospice for their love and care during Janice's final days. Their support provided comfort and dignity, aligning with Janice's own life of grace and compassion. As we bid farewell to Janice V Palmer, we celebrate a life well-lived, full of love, laughter, and unyielding strength. Her memory will forever be a guiding light for all who had the privilege of knowing her.
