Janice Tyler Felton
July 8, 1951 — April 1, 2026
With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Janice Tyler Felton, who departed this world on April 1, 2026, at the age of 74. Born on July 8, 1951, in the warm embrace of Confederate, Kentucky, Janice was a beacon of love, laughter, and resilience to all who knew her.
Janice was the cherished daughter of the late Willard Tyler and Barbara Nelums Tyler, who instilled in her a profound sense of family and community. She was predeceased by her beloved parents, who welcomed her into eternal peace. She is survived by her devoted brother, James Tyler, who remained a steadfast presence in her life.
Janice's life was a testament to the strength of family bonds. She was a beloved wife to Mike Felton, whose partnership and love she treasured deeply. As a nurturing mother, she leaves behind her dear daughters, Amanda Adams (James) and Cally Felker (Keith), and her stepdaughter, Virginia Maltey (Marc), all of whom carry forward her legacy of compassion and kindness. Her spirit will also live on through her seven cherished grandchildren: Chloe Adams, Tyler Adams, Elijah Felker, Charlotte Felker, Jonathan Anderson, Alyssa Maltey, and Cassie Maltey, each of whom brought her immense joy and pride. Janice was affectionately known as "Grammy," a role she embraced with boundless love and delight.
Janice's family extended beyond her immediate circle; she was a beloved aunt to Sherry Walker (Lowell), with whom she shared many fond memories and laughter.
A proud graduate of Trigg County High School in 1969, Janice pursued a fulfilling career at Blanchfield Army Hospital, where she dedicated over 30 years of service in the treasury department. Her commitment and diligence were admired by colleagues and friends alike.
Janice was a woman of deep faith and a longtime member of Hurricane Baptist Church. Her spirituality was a guiding light throughout her life, offering her strength and solace in times of need.
Her passions were as varied as they were vibrant. Janice was an avid "snowbird," delighting in the warmth of Florida's winters while traveling in her motor home. Her collection of flamingos was as colorful as her personality, and her love for reading, traveling, and shopping kept her ever-curious and adventurous. In her younger years, she pursued photography, capturing memories that would last a lifetime. A lover of the cosmos and imagination, Janice was also a proud Trekkie, finding joy and wonder in the world of Star Trek.
Janice's life was a tapestry woven with moments of laughter, love, and unwavering dedication to those she held dear. Her legacy is one of grace, compassion, and an indomitable spirit that will continue to inspire all who knew her. While we mourn her passing, we celebrate the beautiful life she led and the countless hearts she touched.
A service to honor Janice's life will be held at a later date, where family and friends will gather to reminisce and celebrate her remarkable journey. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to a charity of choice, in Janice's memory.
Rest in peace, dear Janice. You will be forever missed and lovingly remembered.
