With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Janice, a beloved daughter, partner, and friend, who departed this world on August 16, 2026. Born on July 18, 1962, in Marksville, Louisiana, Janice was the cherished daughter of the late Albert Ford Sr. and Betty Conway. Her life was a testament to faith, love, and service, leaving an indelible mark on everyone she encountered.
Janice devoted her career to the Avoyelles Women's Correction facility, where she retired with distinction as a Lieutenant. Her dedication and leadership were a source of inspiration to her colleagues and the many lives she touched throughout her career.
A member of the Starlight Baptist Church of Hickory Hill, Janice's faith was the cornerstone of her life. Her love for the LORD was profound, and she shared this love generously with those around her. Her warm spirit and generous heart were evident in her relationships with family and friends.
Janice's legacy lives on through her beloved partner, Swanzetta; her bonus daughters, Chasity Prudhomme, Avery Simmons, Jessie Simmons Jr., Jaliyah Simmons, Jessiah Simmons, and Stacy Augustine; and her godchildren, Carl Patterson, Latoya Carter, Geneva Johnson, and Sky Miller. She also leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends who will cherish her memory.
Janice was predeceased by her parents, Albert Ford Sr. and Betty Conway, and her siblings, Albert Ford Jr., Alton Ford Sr., Floyd Allen Ford, Donald Ford Sr., Carolyn Patterson, and Calvin Ford. Her family finds solace in knowing that she is reunited with them in eternal peace.
A celebration of Janice's life will be held on August 29, 2026, at 11:00 AM at her cherished place of worship, Starlight Baptist Church, located at 3538 LA-1, Marksville, LA 71351. Family and friends are invited to honor her memory and celebrate the rich legacy she leaves behind.
Janice's love for family and life was boundless. Her bright smile and unwavering faith will forever be remembered and cherished by all who knew her.
