Janice Simpson Kydd, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, peacefully took her leave from this world on August 14, 2026, at home, surrounded by family. Born on February 25, 1941, in Boston, Massachusetts, Janice was the cherished daughter of the late Thomas and Corinne Simpson. She was also predeceased by her brother, Paul Simpson, sister-in- law Natalie Simpson and daughter-in-law Mary Kydd. A beacon of love and kindness, Janice's life was a testament to the power of family and community. She is survived by her loving children: Mike (Leslie) Kydd, Steve Kydd, Danny (Genise) Kydd, and Diane (William) Kydd Osborne, who were her pride and joy. She also leaves behind her adored grandchildren: Dillon (Jewelanne) Kydd, Jared Osborne, Ryan Kydd, and Matt (Kelsey) Kydd, brother: Tommy (Caren) Simpson as well as three great-grandchildren ( Charlotte, Will, Thomas) who brought endless delight to her days. Janice began her career journey as a food court manager with Richway Stores, where she honed her skills in leadership and community engagement. She later transitioned to a fulfilling role as a data entry specialist with Pearce Leahy record storage, where she worked until her retirement. Her career was marked by dedication and a strong work ethic that inspired those around her. Known for her quick wit and warm smile, Janice never met a stranger. Her graciousness and humor left a lasting impression on everyone she encountered. She found joy in life’s simple pleasures, such as playing bingo and spending lazy afternoons by the pool with her neighbors in the Alpine Village community. These moments of camaraderie and relaxation were a testament to her love of life and people. Although Janice's departure leaves a void that cannot be filled, her legacy of love and laughter lives on in the hearts of those who knew her. The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Novant Hospice for their compassionate care and support during Janice's illness. In keeping with her wishes, a private funeral ceremony will be held to celebrate her remarkable life. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly suggests donations to Novant Hospice or a charity of your choice in her memory as a tribute to the exceptional care she received. Janice Simpson Kydd's memory will forever be cherished and her spirit will continue to guide and inspire all who were blessed to know her. May she rest in eternal peace.
