Janice Schwarz

March 1, 1953 — March 5, 2026

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Janice Schwarz, née Edgar, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, who left this world suddenly after a stroke on March 5, 2026. Janice was born on March 1, 1953, in the sun-kissed city of St. Petersburg, Florida, to the late Frank and his cherished wife. She was 73 years old. Janice's life was a tapestry woven with love, devotion, and an unwavering commitment to her family and community. In 1980, she married the love of her life, Mario Schwarz, and together they spent 45 wonderful years building a life filled with joy, companionship, and shared dreams. Their love story was one for the ages, providing a shining example of partnership and resilience. Janice's professional journey was marked by her years of dedicated service as a customer service representative for Gainesville Regional Utilities and her clerical work at the University of Florida. Her colleagues remember her as a diligent worker who always greeted everyone with a warm smile and a kind word. Her attention to detail and her genuine care for others made her a cherished member of the workplace community. Outside of her career, Janice was an avid gardener who found serenity and joy in tending to her plants. Her garden was a sanctuary, a place where she nurtured life and found peace. She also had a passion for puzzles, finding joy in the quiet moments spent piecing them together. However, her greatest delight was spending time with her grandchildren, particularly her grandson Jacqson, with whom she shared a special bond. Janice leaves behind a loving family who will forever cherish her memory: her devoted husband, Mario; her two sons, Shane Edgar (Jonee) and Jeremy Edgar (Kayla); her step-daughter, Carrie Bacon (Doug); and her three beloved grandchildren, Jordan Graveline (Shaw), Kendall Bacon, and Jacqson Edgar. She was also blessed with two great-grandchildren, who brought her endless joy. Her family was her pride and joy, and she took immense pleasure in supporting and celebrating their achievements. In this time of sorrow, the Schwarz family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate staff of Health First for their exceptional care and support during Janice's final days. Their kindness and professionalism provided comfort to Janice and her family. Janice's passing leaves an irreplaceable void in the hearts of those who knew her, yet her spirit will continue to inspire us all. Her legacy of love, kindness, and resilience will live on in the lives of her family and friends. A private memorial service will be held to honor Janice's life. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of one's choice in Janice's memory. Her family encourages everyone to plant a flower in their garden in her honor, as a living tribute to a remarkable woman who brought beauty into the world. May her soul rest in peace, and may her memory be a blessing to all who knew her.
