Janice Rose Rutherford

Janice Rose Rutherford, a beloved mother, sister, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on August 30, 2026, at the age of 78. Born on January 28, 1948, in the charming town of Lafollette, Tennessee, Janice was a beacon of warmth and kindness throughout her life. Janice was predeceased by her mother, Marth "June" Hutchinson, and her husband of 40 years, Jerry Rutherford, whom she now joins in eternal rest. She leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter, cherished by her daughter, Rebecca Lowe; her sisters, Vickie (Larry) Deel and Joy Penny Baehr; and the bright lights of her life, her grandchildren, Mandy (Levi) Stanfield. Janice was also blessed with a special nephew, Jason Malady, who was more like a son, and his son Jackson, who brought immense joy to her life. Her dear friend, Harold Whited, and countless other friends and family members will forever hold her memory close to their hearts. A devoted member of the Home Demonstration club, Janice formed many lifelong friendships, bonding over shared interests and community service. She was also a faithful member of the Norris First Baptist Church, where her spirit of generosity and kindness was felt by all who knew her. Janice had a passion for life that was evident in her numerous hobbies. She found joy in the delicate art of crocheting, the escape of a good book, and the creativity of sewing and crafts. She was a keen observer of the world around her, delighting in the simple pleasure of watching birds and tending to her garden. Her love of travel took her on many adventures, each journey enriching her life with new experiences and memories. Her personal qualities were as vibrant as the life she led. Janice was friendly, outgoing, and loving, with a selfless nature that embraced anyone in need. She had a remarkable ability to make everyone feel like family, a testament to her compassionate and generous heart. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice in Janice's honor, allowing her legacy of love and care to continue in the world. Janice Rose Rutherford's life was a tapestry of love, kindness, and service, woven together with threads of friendship and family. She will be profoundly missed but forever remembered by those whose lives she touched. Her spirit lives on in the hearts of all who were fortunate to know her.
