Janice King: A Life of Love, Adventure, and Family
It is with heavy hearts and profound gratitude for her life that we announce the passing of Janice King, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend. Janice left this world on June 4, 2026, at the age of 93, leaving a legacy defined by love, adventure, and an unwavering dedication to her family. Born on November 6, 1932, in the serene town of Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin, Janice was the cherished daughter of Edward and Joyce Wetak. Her upbringing was rooted in the values of kindness and community, which she carried with her throughout her life.
In 1954, Janice married her high school sweetheart, Bob, embarking on a beautiful journey of 66 years of marriage. Their love was an inspiring testament to devotion, a bond that flourished until Bob's passing in 2020. Together, they crafted a life rich in experiences, sharing passions such as downhill skiing, boating, and traveling. Their adventures took them far and wide, yet their hearts always found solace in the warmth of Florida's winters, a cherished retreat they enjoyed together.
Janice was a woman who found joy in the simple pleasures and the grand adventures of life. Her laughter was a soothing balm, and her wisdom, a guiding light. She had a remarkable ability to bring people together, creating a tapestry of love and friendship that will continue to inspire all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Bob; her parents, Edward and Joyce; her brother, Gene; her mother and father-in-law; dear sister-in-laws; and her nephew, Mark. Though they are no longer with us, Janice’s spirit now joins theirs, continuing to watch over her cherished family.
Janice's legacy lives on through her devoted children and grandchildren. She is survived by her son, Gary, and his wife, Sandy; her daughter, Kelli and her husband, Craig, along with their daughter Andrea, her husband John, and their precious daughter, Madeline. Her son, Larry, and his wife, Donna, along with their children, Stephanie, her husband Jake, and their children, Collins and Brooks; Carlyjo, her husband Brian, and their children, Evan and Eloise; and Sam, and his wife, Ashley, each carry forward Janice's love and wisdom, ensuring her spirit will continue to illuminate their lives.
The King family extends their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate staff at Pinecrest Village and Unity Hospice for their exceptional care and support during Janice's final days. Their kindness brought comfort and peace to Janice and her family, for which they are eternally thankful.
As we celebrate Janice's life, we remember her as a beacon of love and joy. Her legacy is etched in the hearts of those she loved, a timeless reminder of the beauty she brought into the world. May her memory be a blessing and her soul rest in eternal peace.
