Janett Marie Prester

March 21, 1950 — March 21, 2026

With heavy hearts, we announce the peaceful passing of Janett Marie Prester, a cherished mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, on her 76th birthday, March 21, 2026. Born on March 21, 1950, to Sam and Ruth Steinle, Janett graced the world with her warmth, compassion, and unwavering dedication to those she loved. Janett was a beacon of kindness, her life a testament to the love and commitment she poured into her family and community. Raised in the comforting embrace of a close-knit family, she was preceded in death by her beloved parents, her precious son Johnathan, and her dear sister Bernice. Despite these profound losses, Janett remained a pillar of strength and resilience, offering comfort and care to those around her. A proud graduate of Wilson High School, Janett continued to nurture her community through her work as a cook at Wilson Schools for many years. In this role, she not only nourished young minds with her delicious meals but also enriched their lives with her gentle spirit and genuine interest in their well-being. Through her unwavering faith and active membership at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church, Janett found solace and purpose. Her commitment to her church community was only rivaled by her dedication to her family, whom she cherished above all else. Janett's legacy continues through her devoted sons, Kurtis, Kevin (Angela), and Martin (Shannon), and her adoring grandchildren, Mason, London, and Haven. Her nurturing spirit and boundless love will forever resonate in their hearts. She is also survived by her loving brother, Gerald (Sherill), and a multitude of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews, who will fondly remember her as a source of joy and inspiration. Janett found immense joy in the simple pleasures of life. Her kitchen was often filled with the inviting scents of the baked goods she lovingly prepared for friends and family, each creation a testament to her affection. Her hands were rarely idle, as she crafted beautiful pieces through her passion for cross-stitching, each stitch a reflection of her patience and creativity. While Janett's physical presence will be deeply missed, her spirit lives on in the countless lives she touched with her generosity, warmth, and love. Her family invites those who knew and loved her to join in a celebration of her life, where stories, laughter, and memories will be shared in her honor. In remembrance of Janett Marie Prester, let us hold dear the lessons she taught us—of resilience, love, and the enduring power of family. May we continue to honor her memory by embracing the values she exemplified throughout her extraordinary life.
