Janet Marie Diaferia, born on February 28, 1944, in the bustling city of Chicago, Illinois, left this world enveloped in the love of her family on August 1, 2026. Her final days were spent in the comforting embrace of her first-born daughter and loving son-in-law’s home. It was a brief yet profoundly cherished time, as they had the privilege and honor to gently walk her to the loving arms of her Savior, Lord Jesus Christ. Janet was the beloved daughter of Leonard Erickson and Hildur Clarren. She was preceded in death by her precious daughter, Kristine Sweetman-Herff, and her devoted husband of nearly 45 years, Dominic. Janet’s legacy continues through her surviving daughter Kathleen (Kitt), her loving son-in-law Michael, and their family. Her heart was fullest when surrounded by her grandchildren, Katie Lynn and her husband Charlie,Kristine, Kelly, and Jessie, and her great-grandchildren, Kayla, Cody, Karlie, Keira, Kameira, Aaron, and Hailey. Janet dedicated over 35 years to her career at ESSEX, where she not only excelled in her work but also forged lifelong friendships. Her colleagues and friends at ESSEX became an extended family, and she cherished each moment spent with them. A service to celebrate Janet’s life will be held on August 7, 2026, at 4:00 PM at the Glueckert Funeral Home, located at 1520 North Arlington Heights Rd., Arlington Heights, Illinois. It will be a time to remember her warmth, her laughter, and her unwavering faith. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly prefers donations be made in Janet's memory to a charity of your choice. Her life was a testament to love, faith, and resilience, and she will forever remain in the hearts of those who were blessed to know her.
