Janet Lynn Vaughan, 72, was born on May 8, 1953, in West Plains, MO and passed away unexpectedly on April 23, 2026, in Wichita, KS.
Janet retired from Textron Aviation in 2018 after many years of dedicated service. She will be remembered for her deep love and devotion to her family, her enthusiasm for the Dallas Cowboys, and the joy she found in gardening and video gaming. Janet’s silly spirit, warm heart, contagious smile, and laughter brought happiness to everyone who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her four children: Linda (Bob) Partin of Burleson; Daniel Wayne (Doris) Jones of Sommerkahl; Jason (Ilia) Jones of Topeka; and Christina (Nathan) Little of Edmond. She also leaves behind eight cherished grandchildren, ten beloved great-grandchildren, her siblings Mark (Gabriele) Vaughan of Belle, Tina (Frank) Palmer of Ringwood, Deborah (Scott) Voss of Goltry, and Kim Limbaugh of Salem, along with many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her father, LeeRoy Vaughan; her mother, Cleta Brashear; stepfather, Clyde Wayne Brashear her brother, LeeRoy “Bud” Vaughan; her sister, Pamela Tate; her brother Richard Vaughan; brother Michael Vaughan; and her son, Brian Scott Jones.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, May 30, at 1:00 p.m. at Damascus Road Ministry Center, 621 N. Derby St., Derby, Kansas 67037.
A reception will follow the service.
