It is with deep sorrow yet enduring love that we announce the passing of our beloved Janet L. Putman, who departed this world on April 15, 2026, at the age of 75. Born on January 22, 1951, in Marysville, California, Janet was the cherished daughter of Edward L. and Laura M. Putman. Her life's journey was adorned with compassion, creativity, and an unwavering commitment to the well-being of others.
Janet's early years in Marysville laid the foundation for a life dedicated to care and empathy. She pursued her calling in mental health by completing a Psychiatric Technician Program in Napa, California. This education was the stepping stone to a fulfilling career, which began at Napa State Hospital. Janet then devoted over 30 years of her professional life to Kaiser Hospital Mental Health, where her dedication and kindness profoundly impacted countless lives.
Beyond her professional achievements, Janet was known for her vibrant spirit and boundless affection for animals. Her home was always a sanctuary for the many dogs and cats she lovingly cared for throughout her life. Her artistic soul found expression in painting, and her green thumb brought life to beautiful gardens. Janet's eye for decoration made her home a warm and inviting haven, often filled with the sounds of Masterpiece Theatre, which she adored.
Janet's life was a testament to the power of enduring relationships. Despite being challenged by chronic pain in her later years, she maintained a lively connection with childhood friends and family. Her strength and resilience were a constant source of inspiration to those around her.
Janet was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved brother, Daniel L. Putman. She is survived by her devoted sister, Susan D. Putman, and her loving siblings, Kayra Putman Dillon and her husband Michael, and brother Kevin A. Putman and his wife Diane, all residing in Yuba City, California. Her sister, Patricia Putman Barlow, and her husband James, of Griffin, Georgia, also survive her. Janet leaves behind numerous nephews, nieces, and dear friends, each of whom she cherished deeply.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Emerald Oaks Assisted Living in Yuba City, California, for their dedicated care and support during Janet’s final days. Their kindness and compassion provided comfort to Janet and her family, for which they are eternally thankful.
Janet L. Putman was a beacon of love and kindness in the lives she touched. Her legacy of compassion and joy will continue to light the path for her family and friends as they cherish the memories of her exceptional life. May she rest in peace, forever remembered and deeply loved.
