It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Janet Edna Stock on April 22, 2026, at the age of 85. Born on December 10, 1932, in the vibrant city of St. Louis, Missouri, Janet was a beacon of warmth and love to everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her.
Janet was the cherished daughter of Raymond and Mary Boese, who predeceased her, along with her beloved siblings Johann, Rick, and Sissy. She was also preceded in death by her devoted husband, Clarence B. Stock, and three of her children, Gary, April, and David. Janet is survived by her three loving children: Randy (Leigh Ann) Stock, Tammy (Roger) Shafferkoetter, and Cindy (Scott) Faaborg. Her legacy continues through her treasured grandchildren: Jason (Kerri) Stock, Jennifer (Scott) Miller, Katy (Paul) Rawlins, Michael Faaborg, Carl (Leslie) Shafferkoetter, Jesse (Danielle) Shafferkoetter, and Nick (Kayla) Shafferkoetter. Janet was also a proud great-grandmother to Kyle, Raiden, Makenlei, Annaleigh, Ainsley, Ashland, Jameson, and Saxton, and many neices and nephews.
Throughout her life, Janet was a woman of many talents and vocations. She dedicated her time to roles as a waitress, bartender, telephone operator, nurse's aide, caregiver, and volunteer. She was a proud member of the Women's American Legion, the Indian Hills Ladies Club, and was actively involved in several women's bowling leagues. Her faith was an integral part of her life, and she was a devoted member of the Holy Cross Church.
Janet's love for life was evident in her passion for tending to her beautiful flower gardens and relishing every moment spent with her grandchildren and family. Her home was always open, and her heart was even more so. She had a remarkable gift for making everyone feel welcome and loved, and her kindness and generosity left an indelible mark on everyone she met.
A service to celebrate Janet's life will be held on May 31, 2026, at 12:00 PM at Mizell Funeral Home, located at 904 W. Washington Street, Cuba, MO. The family extends a special message of gratitude to Carl, Leslie, and Kyle Shafferkoetter, her devoted grandchildren, who provided her with the loving care that allowed her to live out her final years in the comfort of her own home, surrounded by family and pets, fulfilling her deepest wishes.
Janet Edna Stock will be dearly missed, but her spirit and the love she shared will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of all who knew her. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to a charity of your choice in Janet's memory, as a testament to her selfless nature and enduring legacy of compassion.
