Janet E. (Rusack) Caouette, a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on May 19, 2026, at the age of 83. Born on December 5, 1942, in Massachusetts, Janet lived a life defined by love, faith, and unwavering dedication to her family and community. Janet was the beloved wife of George A. Caouette, with whom she shared nearly 65 beautiful years of marriage. Their love story began on July 1, 1961, and together they created a legacy of kindness, raising four wonderful children and building a home rooted in the love of Christ. Janet's devotion to her family was boundless, and her warmth and compassion were felt by all who knew her. Janet's life was a testament to her faith and service to others. A devoted parishioner at Sacred Heart Parish, she was an active member of the Daughters of Isabella, Saint Vincent De Paul, The Ladies of St. Anne, and The Circle of Charity—fondly referred to by Janet as The Circle of Chicken. Her involvement in these organizations reflected her generous spirit, as she tirelessly worked to uplift and support those around her. Predeceased by her parents, siblings, and her cherished great-granddaughter, Brianna Garrity, Janet now joins them in eternal peace. Her loving memory will forever be cherished by her husband, George, and her children: Norman Caouette of Enfield, CT, and his ex-wife Christine (Caouette) Davidson of Southbridge, MA; Brian Caouette of Enfield, CT; Karen David of S. Grafton, MA; and Gary Caouette of Summerville, SC. Janet's legacy continues through her adored grandchildren: Jennifer (Caouette) Kokoszka and her husband Eric of Webster, MA; Daniel Caouette and his wife Katie of Southbridge, MA; Noah and Alexis Caouette of N. Brookfield, MA; Jodi and Eric David of Enfield, CT; Nicholas Caouette and his partner in SC; Bethany (Caouette) Collazo and her husband Jonathan of North Carolina; Christopher, Cataleyah, and Katriana Caouette of Summerville, SC. She leaves behind 10 great-grandchildren, along with numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins who will hold her memory close. Janet was the heart of her family, always providing love, wisdom, and support. Her home was a sanctuary filled with laughter, warmth, and the aroma of her delicious cooking. She had a remarkable ability to make everyone feel special and loved, and her legacy of kindness and compassion will continue to inspire generations to come. As we bid farewell to Janet, we celebrate a life well-lived, full of love, faith, and service. Her light will continue to shine through the lives of those she touched, and her memory will remain a guiding force in the hearts of her family and friends. A memorial service to honor Janet's life will be held at Sacred Heart Parish, where she will be remembered for her unwavering faith and her boundless love for her family and community.
