In Loving Memory of Janet Ann Davis
Janet Ann Davis, a beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and cherished friend, peacefully passed away on October 29, 2026, at the age of 95. Born on May 24, 1931, in Brownwood, Texas, Janet was the daughter of Roy and Jane Thomas. She grew up in a nurturing home, alongside her sister Glenda Clines, who preceded her in death.
In Brownwood, Janet met the love of her life, Billy Neil Davis. They married on June 3, 1949, and shared 58 wonderful years together, devoted to each other and their family until Billy's passing. Together, they raised three children: Kim Huebner (Brian), Alison Winn (Mike), and Paul Davis (Laura), who survive her. Janet's legacy of love continues through her grandchildren, Melissa DePuy (Corey), Brandon Solomon, Matthew Winn (Kathy), Sara Podley (Lee), and Parker (Gina), as well as her cherished great-grandchildren, Teagan and Tanner DePuy, Jack, Drew, and Hudson Podley, Dean Winn, and Delaney Winn.
Janet's dedication to education was a cornerstone of her life. She graduated from Brown High School in 1949, pursued higher education at Hardin-Simmons University, and later earned her Master's degree from Angelo State University in 1980. She passionately served as a teacher and school counselor for over 30 years, touching the lives of countless students with her wisdom and compassion.
A woman of faith, Janet was an active member of several churches throughout her life, most recently being a part of Rayburn Methodist Church. Her warm spirit, loving nature, and steadfast commitment to helping others defined her character. Janet found joy in reading, which was a lifelong passion, and was always ready to lend a helping hand to her family and community.
Janet was predeceased by her parents, husband Billy Neil, her sister Glenda Clines, and her grandson John Kennerly.
In honor of Janet's wishes, a memorial service will be held at a later date. The family extends their gratitude to the staff at Washington Pointe in Irving, Texas, for the compassionate care they provided. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Rayburn Methodist Church or a charity of your choice, reflecting Janet's generous spirit and enduring love for her community.
Janet Ann Davis leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, and dedication. She will be deeply missed but forever remembered in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
