In Loving Memory

Jane Heckard
November 9, 1935 — August 16, 2026
It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Jane M. Heckard, a beloved sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and friend, who left this world peacefully on August 16, 2026. Jane was born on November 9, 1935, in the close-knit community of Itasca, Texas, to the loving union of Caddo and Rosetta Jarmon. Her life, marked by generosity, style, and dedication, was a testament to the strength of family ties and the joy of sharing life's blessings.
Jane's journey in education began at Prairie View A&M University in Texas, where she laid the foundation for a successful career in the banking industry. For over 30 years, she served her clients with diligence and a genuine passion for customer service, becoming a trusted figure in the community.
Beyond her professional achievements, Jane was known for her zest for life. She found joy in traveling, particularly to casinos, where she cherished the moments spent with family and friends. Her love for shopping and fine fragrances was only rivaled by her impeccable sense of style. Jane's generosity knew no bounds; she often shared her fashion finds with others, famously saying, "What's your size? I'll send you one!" Her warmth and hospitality left a lasting impression on everyone she met.
Jane's family was her pride and joy. Although she is preceded in death by her parents, husband, sons, and daughters, her legacy lives on through her sister, Elnetta Jarmon, her treasured grandchildren—Tunsil Smith, Theresa Carrington, Alvin Burdette, Monique Burdette, and Terrell Burdette—and her numerous great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and friends. Each of them carries forward her spirit of love, generosity, and kindness.
The family of Jane Heckard extends heartfelt gratitude to all who have offered prayers and condolences during this time of sorrow. In memory of Jane, the family kindly requests that donations be made to a charity of your choice, honoring her life through acts of kindness and support for others.
As we remember Jane, we celebrate a life well-lived, filled with laughter, love, and an unwavering commitment to those she held dear. Her legacy will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing her.
