Jane Arnold

Jane Arnold March 19, 1948 – July 27, 2026 With heavy hearts, we announce the peaceful passing of Jane Arnold, at the age of 78, who left this world on July 27, 2026, at Cumberland Point Health in West Lafayette, Indiana. After a brave battle with kidney disease, she is now at rest in the loving arms of Jesus, leaving behind a legacy of love, warmth, and selfless service. Born on March 19, 1948, in Noblesville, Indiana, Jane was the cherished daughter of Robert and Mary Grace Holmes. She grew up surrounded by the love of her family and the traditions of her community, values she carried forward throughout her life. Jane was a proud graduate of Sheridan High School, class of 1966, where she formed many lifelong friendships. On January 2, 1971, Jane married her beloved husband, Jack Arnold. Together, they built a beautiful life centered around family, faith, and community. Though Jack preceded her in death, their love story remains a testament to an enduring partnership. Jane was also preceded in death by her treasured daughter, Jacqueline K. Arnold, her mother, Mary Grace Pickett, and her grandparents, Mary Eunice Holmes, Jesse Wilbur Holmes, Flavia Butcher, and Bernard Stafford. Jane was a woman of remarkable kindness and generosity. Her hands were never idle, often found baking delectable treats for her family and preparing funeral dinners for her church community. She had a deep passion for helping others and found immense joy in spending time with her family and friends. Her gentle spirit and nurturing soul touched the lives of many, leaving an indelible impact on those fortunate enough to know her. She leaves behind a loving family who will continue to honor her memory: her son, Bryan Arnold, and daughter, Mariann Arnold; her sister, Anita Hobson, and brother, Phil Holmes. Jane's legacy also lives on through her adored grandchildren, Quentin Arnold, Joselyn Arnold, Logan Schumaker, Jackie Arnold, Zohie Arnold, and Joshua Shaff, as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins who will forever hold her dear in their hearts. She resided in Bloomington,Indiana where she worked for Monon Railroad, where she met her husband Jack. After moving to Lafayette, Jack continued to work for the railroad and they started their family, She work for Essex, Bud's Hiway Store, Purdue University, Hallmark Greeting cards She did volunteer work at the Feast of the Hunter's Moon, East Tipp and Purdue concession stands. She also was chairman of the adminstrative council for several years at Buck Creek Community Church. A celebration of Jane's life will be held on July 31, 2026, with a time to pay respects starting at 1:00 PM at Buck Creek Community Church, located at 2915 Ferret Street, Buck Creek, Indiana. Services will start at 2:00 pm. Jane's family expresses their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate caregivers at Cumberland Health, San Franciscan Hospice Care, and those who stood by her side, including her special friend Betty Robinson and Kathy Arnold. They are also deeply thankful for the unwavering support from Buck Creek Church, which played a significant role in Jane's life. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Buck Creek Community Church or the National Kidney Foundation, where Jane found solace, purpose, and community throughout her life. She will be profoundly missed but never forgotten.
