In Loving Memory of Jamya Carter
It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Jamya Carter, who left this world far too soon on June 12, 2026, at the tender age of 28. Born on May 12, 1998, in the warm embrace of Gautier, Mississippi, Jamya was a beacon of light and love to all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Jamya was the cherished daughter of Aralen and Jackson Carter, who raised her with the deepest love and care. Her family roots ran deep, and she carried with her the legacy of her predeceased grandmother, Luice Carter, whose spirit she now joins. Jamya is survived by her devoted siblings, Germany and Montrell Carter, who will continue to honor her memory in their own lives.
A proud graduate of Gautier High School in 2019, Jamya embarked on her journey of higher education at Jones Community College, where she was known for her intellect, curiosity, and eagerness to embrace learning. Her academic pursuits were a testament to her dedication and passion for growth and discovery.
Jamya was a soul who found joy in the simple pleasures of life. Her love for fishing was unmatched, and she found solace and happiness by the water, regardless of the weather. Rain, sleet, or snow, Jamya never missed an opportunity to cast her line and connect with nature, a pastime she cherished deeply.
Those who had the honor of hearing Jamya speak will remember her sweet, tiny voice that earned her the endearing nickname "Tweety Bird." Her voice was not just a sound; it was a melody of kindness and warmth that resonated in every room she graced. Jamya possessed an innate ability to care for those around her, offering selfless love and unwavering support to her family and friends. Her presence was a gift, and the love she shared will be forever cherished in the hearts of those she touched.
A memorial service to celebrate Jamya's life will be held on June 24, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. at the Restoration Apostolic Church, located at 2101 Martin Bluff Road, Gautier, MS. We invite all who knew and loved Jamya to join us in honoring her memory, sharing stories, and finding comfort in the community she built around her.
In this time of sorrow, let us remember Jamya not for the way she left us, but for the beautiful life she lived. Her spirit will continue to shine brightly in the memories of those who loved her, and her legacy of love, compassion, and kindness will remain in our hearts forever.
May Jamya Carter find the peace she so richly deserves, and may her soul rest in eternal serenity.
