February 16, 1967 — March 31, 2026

February 16, 1967 – March 31, 2026 It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Jammal Spratley, who departed this world peacefully in his sleep at home on March 31, 2026. Born in Baltimore, Maryland, on February 16, 1967, Jammal lived a life rich in laughter, love, and unwavering dedication to his family, friends, and faith. A cherished son of the late Mary Spratley, Jammal was predeceased by his beloved mother and his dear daughter, Toya Spratley. He is lovingly remembered by his devoted wife, Nancy Spratley, with whom he shared 35 beautiful years of marriage. Their love story began in Baltimore, where they married in March 1991, a testament to a bond that only grew stronger with time. Jammal is survived by his children, Sean Spratley and Shelly Spratley, who carry forward his legacy of kindness and humor. He was a proud grandfather to Michael Duncan, Teon Davis, Ja’Khia Dorsey, and Tavon Duncan, who will forever cherish the joyous moments spent with their doting granddad. A proud alumnus of Towson University, Jammal graduated in 1989 with a degree in Electrical Engineering. He dedicated 30 years of his professional career to BGE, where he was respected not only for his expertise but for his integrity and unwavering work ethic. After retiring, Jammal chose to spend his days in the comfort of his home, surrounded by his loved ones. His faith was a cornerstone of his life, and for the past 20 years, Jammal was an active and spirited member of Grace Bible Baptist Church. His vibrant energy and infectious laughter were constants at every service, bringing joy and warmth to all who knew him. Jammal had a passion for life that was evident in his love for basketball, particularly watching the Cavs play. With a can of Pepsi and a cup of ice in hand, he would cheer on his team, often surrounded by family, sharing moments of joy and camaraderie. He was a man of humor, ready to crack a joke and light up the room, yet he was equally known for his ability to approach serious matters with grace and resolve. A service to celebrate Jammal's life will be held on April 11, 2026, at 2:00 PM at March West Funeral Home, located at 4300 Wabash Avenue. Family and friends are welcome to join in honoring a man who was, and will always be, a beacon of love, laughter, and light. Jammal Spratley will be dearly missed but never forgotten. His spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those he touched, and his memory will be cherished by all who were fortunate enough to know him.
