It is with deep sorrow and a profound sense of gratitude for a life well-lived that we announce the passing of Jamie J. Heath, a cherished husband, devoted father, beloved grandfather, and esteemed community member. Jamie departed this world peacefully on June 1, 2026, at the age of 58, leaving behind a legacy of love, service, and integrity.
Born on July 19, 1967, in the quaint town of Putnam, Connecticut, Jamie was the beloved son of Allard J. "Red" Heath Sr., Alma Elsie (Lannaville) Bennett, and Harvey Bennett. Though he was predeceased by his parents, brothers Eugene H. Heath, Allard J. "Tyke" Heath Jr., Curt D. Heath, Steven Heath, and sister Brenda J. Heath, Jamie's memory will forever be cherished by his devoted wife of 39 years, Debra J. (Sherman) Heath. Their enduring love story began on December 27, 1986, when they wed at Whipple's Chapel in Ballouville, CT.
Jamie was the proud father of two children: Adam T. Heath, married to Jessica, and Erin L. Muscato, married to Troy. He was also a doting grandfather to five grandchildren, who were the light of his life. He is survived by his sisters, Joyce Cote and Heidi Moore with her husband Wayne, and his brother Scott Bennett with his wife Misty, all of whom shared in the joy and challenges of life alongside him.
A man of dedication, Jamie served his country with honor in the United States Army from 1985 to 1987, where he completed basic training and specialized instruction at Fort Jackson, SC, and was assigned to Fort Gordon, GA, with special duty at Sheppard Air Force Base in Wichita Falls, Texas.
His educational journey took him to North Shore Community College, where he earned an Associate's Degree in Funeral Service in 2025, following his graduation from Putnam High School in 1985. Jamie dedicated over 23 years to his role as a Funeral Director at Shaw-Majercik Funeral Home, providing comfort and support to countless families in their times of need. Prior to this, he built a successful career at UGPG2 Packaging in Sutton, MA, and spent 25 years with Commerce Insurance, where his commitment to excellence was unwavering.
Jamie was a man deeply committed to his community. As a member of the Webster Lions Club, the Webster-Dudley Business Association, and the Putnam Democratic Town Committee, he worked tirelessly to make a positive impact on those around him. His passion for civic engagement was further exemplified by his campaign for Mayor of Putnam and his active role on the Putnam Board of Education, where he strived to improve the lives of future generations.
Jamie J. Heath will be remembered not only for his professional accomplishments and community service but for his warm smile, generous spirit, and unwavering dedication to his family and friends. His legacy of kindness and service will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing him.
A celebration of Jamie's life will be held to honor his memory and commemorate the profound impact he had on the lives of others. The family kindly requests that any donations in Jamie's memory be made to the Webster Lions Club or a charity of your choice, reflecting the values and causes he held dear.
As we bid farewell to a remarkable man, we hold his memory close, finding comfort in the knowledge that his love and legacy will endure in the hearts of those who loved him.
