It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of Jamie Bartley, a beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend, who left us on April 24, 2026. Jamie was born on September 17, 1973, in Lumberton, North Carolina, and spent his formative years amidst the close-knit community of Fairmont, NC.
A son to Adloise Bell, Jamie was a shining light to all who knew him. His life was a testament to the values of dedication, loyalty, and love, which he carried with him from his childhood home through his years of service and career.
Jamie attended Fairmont High School, where he proudly donned the Tornado jersey, playing as a linebacker and fullback on the football field and as an outfielder on the baseball diamond. He was admired for his athletic prowess and the camaraderie he shared with his teammates, traits that followed him throughout his life.
After high school, Jamie answered the call to serve his country, enlisting in the United States Navy. From 1992 to 1996, he was stationed in Norfolk, Virginia, where he served with distinction. His time in the Navy was marked by a steadfast commitment to duty and an unwavering sense of patriotism.
Following his military service, Jamie embarked on a career at General Atomics Warehouse in San Diego, California, where he worked for over three years. His colleagues remember him as a diligent worker, always ready with a helping hand and a kind word.
Jamie had a passion for sports, particularly football and basketball, and he could often be found cheering for his favorite teams. However, his greatest joy in life came from spending time with his family and friends. Whether it was a casual gathering or a holiday celebration, Jamie's laughter and warmth were a constant presence, bringing people together and creating cherished memories.
Jamie was preceded in death by his beloved grandmother, Christine Bartley; his aunt, Shelia Lewis; his uncle, Jerry Bartley; his cousin, Robert Williamson; and his nephew, Randall Hardin Jr., all of whom he held dear and whose memories he cherished.
He leaves behind his devoted mother, Adloise Bartley of Fairmont, NC; two brothers, Craig Bell (Dinah) of Saint Pauls, NC, and Randall Hardin Sr. (Tiffany) of Lumberton, NC; an aunt, Carolyn White of Eastover, NC; two uncles, Terry Bartley (Kelly) and Donald Ray Bartley (Pam), both of Fairmont, NC. Jamie was a beloved uncle to his nieces, A'mora Bell and Diamond Chance of Saint Pauls, NC, and Hailey Hardin of Lumberton, NC, and to his nephews, Landon Bell of Saint Pauls, NC, and Randy Hardin of Lumberton, NC. He also leaves behind a host of other aunts, uncles, family members, and numerous friends who will forever cherish his memory.
A service to celebrate Jamie's life will be held at Floyd Funeral Services, Inc. His legacy of love and laughter will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
In this time of sorrow, we find solace in the memories we shared with Jamie and the impact he had on our lives. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege to know him.
