It is with deep sorrow and profound love that we mourn the passing of Jamesia Rochelle Drummond, who departed this life on August 28, 2026. Born on November 25, 1994, in the warm embrace of Gulfport, Mississippi, Jamesia's life was a testament to love, kindness, and dedication, leaving an indelible mark on the hearts of those who were fortunate to know her. The beloved daughter of Georgia Ann Drummond and James Wesley Carter, Jamesia grew up surrounded by a large, loving family. She was predeceased by her cherished maternal grandmother, Dorothy Nicholson; her maternal grandfather, Louis Guillotte; her paternal grandfather, James Carter; and her aunt, Rosemary Palode; her uncle, Willie Madden; and her great-grandparents. Her legacy of love continues through her parents, Georgia and James; her treasured sons, Jayden McGill and Vergie Wade, of Long Beach, Mississippi; and her devoted brothers, Cordero Gordon of Morrow, Georgia, and Raken Jackson of Long Beach, Mississippi. Her grandmother, Willie Mae Carter of Gulfport, also survives her, along with an extensive and loving extended family. Jamesia's life was enriched by the bonds she shared with her aunts: Lena Drummond, Pamela Madden, Constance Guillotte, Keeley Guillotte, Rachel Guillotte, Lena J. Smith, Tina Herrell, and Glenda Torres, and her uncles: Robert Charles (Sonia) Drummond, Carlton Guillotte, and Larry Drummor. She was a beloved aunt to Tre 'Jeanne Piernas and Kehlani Jackson. Her bonus family, including Paula, Wanda, Vivian, Sandy, Carolyn, Denise, Fredrick Corbett, Chandra Davis, and Tina Rogers, as well as close friends Amber Antoine, Myraches Hawthorne, Ryjzen (Doobie) Reid, and cousin Deanna Casey Handy, all held a special place in her heart. Jamesia earned her General Education Diploma from Climb CDC in May 2013, a testament to her commitment to personal growth and learning. Professionally, she dedicated herself to the care of others as a Certified Nursing Assistant at Brookdale Senior Living, where her compassion and kindness left a lasting impact on residents and colleagues alike. Her childhood was filled with the joy and activity of being a cheerleader at Bayou View Junior High School, a Girl Scout, and a basketball player at Trinity Methodist Church. A woman of faith, she attended First Missionary Baptist Church in Hansboro, Mississippi, under Pastor S.V. Adolph, where her spiritual foundation was nurtured. A private funeral ceremony will be held to honor Jamesia's life, inviting those closest to her to celebrate her journey and the light she brought into the world. The family of the late Jamesia Rochelle Drummond wishes to acknowledge with deep appreciation the many expressions of love, kindness, and support shown to us during this hour of bereavement. We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Memorial Hospital Intensive Care Unit for their care and concern for our beloved Jamesia during her stay. Though she has departed from this world, Jamesia's legacy of love, compassion, and kindness will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew her. May her soul rest in eternal peace.
