In Loving Memory

Jamesena Cash
February 4, 1949 — May 5, 2026
Jamesena Cash, a beloved matriarch, passed away peacefully at her home in Knoxville, Tennessee, on May 5, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born on February 4, 1949, in Knoxville, Jamesena's life was a testament to resilience, love, and the enduring power of family.
The daughter of James Dillard and Emma Cliffton, Jamesena was predeceased by her loving parents and her cherished siblings, brothers Walter Hodge and Melvin Weaver, and sister Francine Mcbee. She is survived by her devoted siblings, Ella Neal and Johnny, who have shared countless memories and a bond that transcends time.
Jamesena was the proud and loving mother of four daughters: Juanita (Jeffery) Thomas, Dorothy Cash, Floretta Cash, and Helena Griffin. She was a guiding light and a source of unending support to them, offering wisdom and laughter that filled their lives with joy.
Her legacy extends through her 11 grandchildren, Antoinette Rucker, Kenyatta Stephans, Brittany (Ty) Duke, Carissa Cash, Dominique Payne, Desmond Cowan, Micheal Cowan, Richard Weaver, Jeffery Thomas Jr., Airehanna Giffin, and Isaiah Giffin, and further to her 25 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren, who lovingly referred to her as the heart of the family. Each of them carries a piece of her spirit, enriched by the stories, lessons, and love she so generously shared.
Jamesena's presence was a gift to everyone who knew her. Her humor was spontaneous, her intelligence unparalleled in the ways that truly mattered, and her love so profound that it enveloped all she encountered, providing a sanctuary of safety and warmth. Even on the darkest days, she could elicit laughter with her quick wit. Her advice was akin to a beacon, guiding those she loved through life's challenges with grace and clarity. She never let anyone leave her presence without a reminder to nourish their bodies, ensuring they were cared for in every way.
Her strength and kindness were the fabric of her being, leaving an indelible mark on all who were fortunate enough to know her. The world feels a little quieter without her laughter and a little harder without her hugs, yet we find solace in knowing that heaven has gained the most beautiful angel.
Jamesena's legacy is one of love—a love that will continue to guide and inspire her family and friends. Her stories, her lessons, and her laughter will forever echo in the hearts of those she leaves behind. We thank her for every smile, every joke, every warm meal, and every moment she so freely gave us.
While she may be gone from our sight, she will never be absent from our hearts. Jamesena Cash will be forever loved and forever missed, a testament to a life well-lived and a love well-shared.
