James Wilson, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by family and friends on September 20, 2026, at the age of 76. Born on March 4, 1950, in Little Rock, Arkansas, James was the cherished son of the late John and Carol Wilson. He was also predeceased by his dear Aunt Elizabeth Russell. James shared a life of love and companionship with his devoted wife, Veronica Wilson. Together, they raised three wonderful children: Alicia Wilson-Ruiz, Jermaine Wilson, and Kevin Wilson. James was a proud and loving grandfather to six grandchildren: Ashton Wilson, Leanna Wilson, Aaliyah Ruiz, Jason Wilson, Stephanie Ruiz, and Taylor Wilson. He is also survived by his siblings Micah Wilson, Ashley Wilson, Larry Wilson, and Denise Wilson, who will all miss him dearly. James graduated with honors in Computer Science from Lincoln High and dedicated his entire career to General Motors, where he was respected not only for his expertise but for his kindness and integrity. An active member of the House Of God Baptist Church, James found joy in singing hymns and participating in church activities. His love for fishing, hiking, and spending quality time with family and friends filled his life with happiness and purpose. A man with a kind heart and gentle spirit, James had a remarkable ability to make those around him smile. His warmth and humor will be fondly remembered by everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. A service to celebrate James's life will be held on September 25, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the House Of God Baptist Church, located at 4800 W. Main St., Chicago, IL 60629. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to a charity of your choice in James's memory. The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the church community, friends, and co-workers for their unwavering support and compassion during this difficult time. James's legacy of love, kindness, and laughter will continue to inspire all who knew him.
