James Rudkin, a beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend to many, passed away peacefully on October 8, 2026. Born on March 13, 1945, in the charming town of Gilroy, James was the cherished child of Laura and Clyde Rudkin. His early years in Gilroy were filled with love and laughter, setting the foundation for a life devoted to family and service.
James was a man of great integrity and warmth, known for his selflessness and genuine care for others. He had an extraordinary ability to make everyone feel loved, always placing the needs of others before his own. His kind spirit and gentle demeanor touched the lives of all who knew him.
After completing his high school education, James served his country with honor in the military. His dedication and commitment to service were evident not only in his military career but also in his professional life. James spent many years working at California Microwave and Honeywell in shipping and receiving, where he was admired for his hard work and reliability.
James had a passion for classic cinema and found immense joy in watching old movies, particularly those featuring Charlie Chaplin and the Marx Brothers. This hobby brought him great comfort and joy, providing a window into the past and a connection to the timeless art of storytelling.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Laura and Clyde Rudkin, his sister Lois Baulmen, and his niece Diane Baulmen. James leaves behind a family who adored him: his sister Peggy Vanwagenen, niece Mary Fuqua, nephew Josh, great-niece Sophia, and grand-nephew Aiden. Though James did not have children or grandchildren of his own, he embraced his role as a loving uncle and great-uncle, imparting wisdom and love to the younger generations of his family.
A private ceremony will be held to honor James' life and legacy, as per his wishes. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly suggests that donations be made in James' memory to a charity of your choice, celebrating his generous spirit and commitment to helping others.
James Rudkin will be dearly missed but fondly remembered by all who were fortunate enough to have known him. His life was a testament to kindness, service, and love—qualities that will continue to inspire all who carry his memory in their hearts.
