James Robert Nelson

James Robert Nelson, a beloved father, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away at the age of 57. Born on February 3, 1969, James was a beacon of love and compassion who made a significant impact on those around him through his acts of kindness and unwavering sense of justice. James was preceded in death by his loving parents, Vivian Cox Aaron and Theo Nelson, and his brother, Sopater Trucks. He is fondly remembered and survived by his devoted sister, Donna Langley; his cherished son, John Wayne Nelson; and a host of nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews, including nephews Samuel Baket, Wade Aaron, Robbie Moody, Joshua Campbell, Jakob Langley, and niece Grace Glass. James's legacy of love and generosity lives on through them and his extended family of five great-nieces and five nephews. A man of profound compassion, James dedicated much of his life to teaching the homeless community how to survive safely and with dignity. His life was a testament to living and giving, always standing up for what was right and just. His generous spirit and dedication to others left an indelible mark on the world, touching the lives of everyone he met. James shared a special bond with the Fieldhouse family, who became an integral part of his life. He cherished their friendship deeply and found great strength and joy in their company. The family wishes to extend their heartfelt thanks to the Fieldhouse friends and family, with a special acknowledgment to Labarron for their unwavering support and friendship. A service to honor James's life will be held on August 16, 2026, at 10:00 AM, at the Fieldhouse, located at 5712 US Hwy 49 S. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Fieldhouse Inc., in memory of James and his profound commitment to helping others. James Robert Nelson will be dearly missed, but his legacy of love, kindness, and courage will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing him. May he rest in peace, forever remembered for the warmth he brought into our lives.
